DRAGONRIDGE COUNTRY CLUB CLUBHOUSE
Henderson, Nevada
This 27,000 square-foot clubhouse is found at the DragonRidge Country Club in MacDonald Highlands. Amenities include a pro shop, fine dining, exercise facility, swimming pool, mixed grill, and golf cart storage. The award-winning structure was arch--itecturally designed to shadow the ridgeline of the surrounding mountains. A combination of wood, steel, masonry, and concrete materials were used. Race crews and fans have easy access to the infield and track at Phoenix International Raceway thanks to the tunnel constructed beneath the NASCAR track. The arch tunnel passes under turn 4 and is large enough for two semi trucks to drive through side by side, with room to spare. It is approximately 230 linear-feet long. The reinforced concrete arched tunnel is a 32-foot by 19-foot thin concrete arch and was designed by Wright Engineers using FE analysis to model the soil as an integral structural component.
