Las Vegas Engineering Firm Inks Deal With Japanese Homebuilder

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Wright Engineers, a Las Vegas multi-discipline engineering firm, recently signed a contract to provide engineering services in Japan. American Homes, Inc. of Japan, a Tokyo based residential developer, has hired Wright Engineers to provide structural engineering design tools and training for implementation in Japan.

This international instruction is intended to teach the Japanese-based American Homes’ engineers American-style methods of residential design and construction. A 2-story Las Vegas house and a 3-story Japanese house served as the principal training ground in the recently held introductory overview. The Japanese-based engineers were also instructed on key sections of the building code (IBC, ASCE 7, and NDS), the capabilities and use of proprietary design software, and how to put it all together.

A comprehensive course of training began last month with two-and-one-half weeks of one-on-one instruction at Wright Engineers’ Las Vegas office. Training will continue in July at American Homes’ office in Tokyo. Daniel Bartlett, PE, principal and director of residential engineering is directing the project for Wright Engineers. Bartlett lived in Japan for two years and speaks Japanese.

As one of the largest and most respected engineering firms in Nevada, Wright Engineers has been providing engineering services throughout Las Vegas since 1997. Wright’s global expansion to the Pacific Rim has opened up a world of opportunity to share the expertise gained from being part of the building boom in Las Vegas.
